Your One-Stop Playground to the World of Fashion and Fashion Trends
If you are a clothing aficionado that just can't stop talking
about and shopping for the latest fashion trends, this
is the fashion site for you. We will journey from the
catwalks of Milan and Paris right down to the smaller,
local fashion shows hosted by women's groups, charities,
and civic organizations. There are the most incredible
finds in some of the most surprising places. We want to
share them with you.
We at fashionsplazza.com feel that a fashion trend can
literally trace its origins to the most obscure and unforeseen
places. While we are tremendous fans/followers of the
biggest names in fashion: Donna Karan, Versace, Calvin
Klein, Giorgio Armani, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren,
and all the rest, too often we feel that there is an overreliance
on these legendary artists. They create the clothes that
many of us can not afford to buy. But that is just the
highest end of the fashion spectrum.
New and chic fashion trends can start at a downtown club,
at a televised awards show, from a music video, in the
sporting world (Florence Griffith Joyner, anyone?), from
a movie or television show, or numerous other sources.
We want to discuss the fashion world from the remote,
obscure places all the way up to the grandest stages.
Let's just consider the sporting world. Flo-Jo burst on
to the scene with her record setting track & field
performances and her flashy personal style. How many people
are aware she designed the uniforms for the NBA's Indiana
Pacers in 1989? Maybe today's best comparison amongst
lady athletes is Serena Williams. He courtside outfits
have garnered much attention and spawned copycats among
her female fans. And that's how easy and unexpectedly
a trend or fad begins.
Anyone who doesn't think Tiger Woods and his trademark
caps and shirts aren't the thrust behind a fashion wave
among male golfers just needs to visit any local golf
course and look around.
Major fashion trends have always been a by-product of
movies, television, and music. When Elvis entered the
army and had to have his famous head shaved, millions
of young men went right out and got the "buzz"
cut. Michael Jackson, his red leather jacket, and a single
sequined glove launched a fashion craze that was perhaps
the most surprising due to the flamboyance of the outfit.
It's one thing to cut your hair to resemble someone or
wear the same sunglasses, but a sparkling glove on just
one hand was a bit out of the ordinary. But Corey Feldman
wasn't the only one doing it, right guys?
Speaking of sunglasses, remember the rise of Ray-Bans
and the re-emergence of the pilot/flight jacket after
the movie Top Gun came out?
And no discussion of fashion inspirations in the music
world would be complete without mentioning Madonna. Perhaps
her more modern comparisons would be either Beyonce or
Gwen Stefani.
It just goes to demonstrate that good fashion, bad fashion,
trends, and fads can trace their roots anywhere. At fashionsplazza.com
we will scour the planet for anything new and on-the-rise
and bring it to you. From clothes to shoes to hairstyles
and accessories, you need not look any further than fashionsplazza.com
